Be-Be-Bears

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Be-Be-Bears (Russian title: Ми-ми-мишки, Mi-Mi-Mishki[a]) is a Russian animated series created by the animation studio "Parovoz [ru]". It has been broadcast since March 21, 2015.[1][2][3]

In the Russian version it is about the adventures of Kesha the brown bear, Tuchka ("little cloud") the polar bear[b], and their friends the little she-fox Foxy (Лисичка) and Chick the chicken, as well as some other characters.[1]

Worldwide

[edit]

In 2018 Netflix bought from "Parovoz" the distribution rights for the first season.[4] Starting on August 29, 2018 on Netflix, on May 31, 2020 it was removed after airing one season (26 episodes).[5] In the English dubbing the bears' names are Bucky and Bjorn.

An interactive game "Be-be-bears was launched in 2016, for Android and iOS.[6]

Notes

[edit]
  1. ^ The Russian name "Misha"/"Mishka" is a colloquial reference to a bear
  2. ^ Kesha is a diminutive for Innokentiy and "Tuchka" ("little cloud") is a hint to an episode from the Russian cartoon Winnie-the-Pooh in which Winnie sings while flying balloon: "I am a little cloud and not at all a bear" in order to fool the bees
